Stock Splits
Stock splits happen for two basic reasons. First so more people can buy the stock because it is cheaper. Second greed of the company. I like it because most stocks that split tend to go up in value and split again. The chart shown has two stock splits, notice the pre split run up! I play these with options and then jump off just before split. When the stock splits the option splits then you have twice as many at 1/2 the price. If the option is a leap it can run up and split one or more times and then be worth several times what you paid for it. I teach when to play splits and when not to. If you do not do it correctly it can hand you your HEAD! |
